Splinter Cell: Conviction - Another Addition To A Great Stealth with Style Game Series

All the Splinter Cell series fans have something to cheer about after a long long wait. Splinter Cell: Conviction is the latest installment in the Tom Clancy's most popular series. Yeah! Sam Fisher is Back with a Bang...A big bang indeed!

Ubisoft, the game developer for Splinter Cell series, recently revealed a few technical details with respect to the latest Splinter Cell Edition.

Our favorite hero, Sam Fisher is back in this yet another much awaited game in the splinter cell series after Double Agent which was a great hit, no doubt. Scheduled to be released in October this year, Splinter Cell: Conviction is said to be having some new engine details and some fresh new features.

The following conversation took place between PC Games Hardware and the Ubisoft:

PCGH: Why did you choose to use Unreal Engine 2 instead of Unreal Engine 3?

Ubisoft: We're using our own engine, LEAD, which is an evolution from the engine used in SCCT(Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory).

PCGH: What are the strengths of this engine?

Ubisoft: • Amazing lighting engine, all lights are dynamic in the maps and can be dynamically activated and deactivated.
• A fully dynamic environment
• Latest enhancements, such as ambient occlusion or destructible environment
• Powerful to display a large amount of objects on screen
• Crowd management, even if not core to the gameplay

Up to now very few videos and screenshots of Splinter Cell: Conviction can be seen around. A very bad news for gamers on PC is that Splinter Cell: Conviction will be released only for the Xbox 360 exclusively at first.

Very little information regarding the content of the game. Sam Fisher is on a hunt for the murderers of his daughter. In the course of his path, he happens to be at several places with Malta and Washington among them. And hence, the story will be much more personal and enthralling for Fisher this time. Speculations are on the rise for a multiplayer mode to be integrated with this installment, but not much information is out yet on this subject.

Maybe they don't want to create much hype about it and want to keep it under wraps. And that is the native Sam Fisher Style...Stealth with Style!
